Juried artist, R. Stuart Carpenter, studied fine art and commercial art in Chicago, Illinois. His early career found him honing his talents at various studios and agencies throughout the Chicagoland area. He now exhibits his artwork in the Valley of the Sun where he has resided since 1991.

Drawing inspiration from early Native American history, tradition, and folklore, the artist set out to respectfully illustrate our nation’s first celebrated people. These exceptional mixed-media, three-dimentional masks are found in many private collections throughout the united states.
